Congratulations!

I think you'll be extremely happy with your choice!

Even today, almost 3 years after buying this piece, I still get fascinated when I look at it. I do find some limitations in how often I can wear it (these days, usually just once a week or so, on nights out), but every time I do, it puts a huge smile on my face in a way that no other watch that I own does.

Even when I look at other watches outside my collection, the other watches that make me feel this way (unless you get to a much, much more exalted price point) are few and far between (AP 15305, VC American 1921, PSM Shimoda)

And since this thread touches on other people's perceptions of watches... well, no other watch I own has even come close to getting the number of compliments as the 4101. Everybody from the likes of Kari Voutilainen to friends of mine with zero interest in watches have all loved it on my wrist!

good luck with the purchase

cheers,
kartik.

Why no Millenary love?

 By: EMR : June 22nd, 2014-22:11
I am an AP fan, and I noticed almost all the posts in this forum are about either the RO or ROO models. Although I like both of those Genta designed models, I also think the Millenary line is one of the most watch designs. It is certainly unique and eye-c...

I can't answer the question

Success and curse ...

AP succeeded in making the Royal Oak (and its Offshore offspring) one of the most emblematic watches in the world. Most of this is the result of a massive PR, with (felt) thousands of limited editions, the clever choice of brand ambassadors and product pl...

Audemars Piguet is in no such imminent danger. They will never be a monoproduct brand. Yes, I agree that most of the world knows AP for the Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore. A good problem, in some ways, a bad one in other ways, and one they are well awar...

Many of us LOVE the Millenary.

 By: MichaelC : June 23rd, 2014-12:24
I myself have posted on multiple occasions that for my interests, AP's greatest creations are executed in the Millenary case. Absolutely not a "lesser" line in any regard, even if it is not as popular as the Royal Oak and Royal Oak Offshore lines. I also ...

I love the Millenary...

...specifically because it's not as recognizable as the RO and ROO. Mine's from 2000, a first generation model, so you don't see many of them around. And that's one of the things I like about it. If I buy another AP, it will certainly be another Millenary...

I love my Millenary!

 By: Kartik : June 25th, 2014-07:27
I don't think anybody considers Millenarys to be lesser watches, but you are certainly right that they are a lot less popular than other AP products, especially the RO/ROO line. I think this is driven by the intense success of those lines (which is an ent...

The Millenary is a go!!

Yes, I was on the fence but I have decided to order the 4101 Millenary model.

 By: Mostel : June 25th, 2014-23:05
The Millenary is not particularly popular because it is an unusual shaped case, combined with exotic dials. I also think that when a collector is considering buying an AP, they virtually always want the icon that defines the brand. They will potentially c...

The curse of being spectacular

By: Blue and White : July 1st, 2014-00:29
I perceived the Millenary design at first sight as too unconventional, by now however I find it spectacular, refreshing and riveting. It is stretching the boundaries of watch design conventions, and AP deserves the credits for such courage. The relative l...
