You know the story behind the Reverso, so I will make it short: A French Business Man, Cesar De Trey had the idea, while attending a Polo Match, to make a watch which would be more resistant to shocks, Lecoultre worked on it, and René Alfred Chauvot inven...
You are right, Nicolas, the beauty, charme and harmony of these vintage Reversos s really breathtaking. Trying to find my personal access to JLC I had also a closer look at some of modern Reversos. But up to now for some reason that I did not understand t...
They both have their pros and cons. The Vintage have Soul, expressed by their patina, the radium indexes, but also this lovely dirty look. Some would prefer the Clinical clean look of the Modern. To each his own, even if, personally, I love both of them.....
Happy to see you here, too. These Vintage Reversos are really dangerous, my friend. Since I saw a splendid one in the flesh some years ago, I couldn't forget it. The hunt was long, but good! Best, Nicolas
hi Nico, can i request you not to show us such stunning watches any more, can't stand at all... LOL. by the way, very nice review again, my friend. stefan
... untill you see it in the flesh ! ... and put it on your wrist .... then it becomes perfect ! IMHO one of thé greatest classics amongst watches, as far as my memories go the reverso was there. And compared to all the other watches from the 30ies the gr...
Congratulations Nicolas! Black or white is too difficult a choice for me, although I think I marginally prefer the black also, because it looks more consistent with just baton markers, rather than the batons with a numeral 12 on the white dial. But of cou...
And I needed time to make my mind, on this matter... The white looks bigger, while the black looks stronger. And the white inner circle is so lovely, too. BUT the white is not a second choice. Best, my friend, and thanks for your input. Nicolas
Love the way the minute/second ring stand out on the black dial. Very nice match between the radium and the ostrich strap too... It's a winner Nicolas! All the best from your friend Nikolaj
that attracts me to JLC, not that the Master Control is not outstanding, but simply the Reverso is unique. And those vintage Reversos look so attractive. They are like some finely aged wine, they just get better with the passage of time. Best regards, Bax...
Now that yo have conquered vintage memovoxes and divers, it is time for the Reversos, eh? What a great catch. thanks for sharing these lovely old Reversos. They remain very fresh even today. I still must hunt a square or rectangular watch, and I keep retu...
It is THE ONE to get! I mean a Reverso. And so many models were made that it won't be difficult for you to find YOUR Reverso. This watch is pure genius. Best, my friend. Nicolas
It is more something I kept under my sleeve... When I put it aside with my Memovox, or Geophysic, or better, the 3 together, I think we're touching the basics, the fundamentals of Elegant Watchmaking... Best, my friend. Nicolas
. . . the overall size and proportions of the original Reverso are my cuppa tea. As much as I admire the current crop of Reversos, there's something very special about the first generation. Congratulations on acquiring a truly timeless design . . . cordia...
These first Reversos are amazing. Small, but Harmonious, elegant, and to sum it, PERFECT. Some of the modern are great, too. Best of both worlds? An original, and a modern! Best, Nicolas
Thanks for making this awesome work. Your "Quick Views·" are always a pleasure )) I love a lot these vintage Reversos. I must say that, for me, are really difficult watches to wear because its size but, at the same time, I must admit that are one of the m...
...or more elegant. In the photo showcasing your black-dialed vintage piece with the Reverso GT, the vintage wins in the aesthetics department IMO hands-down. That's not to say that the GT isn't handsome, because it most certainly is, but the vintage's si...
Are splendid Rectangular examples, indeed. The 60eme and 70eme are a kind of Hommage to the original, which is a particularly difficult exercize. This certainly is a superb thema of Collection... Best, Nicolas
Very nice report on a very nice model. Congrats on your choice! That's the fun of a GMT, you get both the white and black dial. Only the central seconds isn't there. I have to make the hard choice every day ;-)
That's the fun and the Beauty of your Reverso, my friend, to be able to choose between the 2 dials! Thanks for your nice comments. Was good to meet you last week. Best, Nicolas
