La Generale ebauche

This Concord tonneau movement, like the V&C version, is based on an 8 3/4 x 12 ligne calibre manufactured by La Generale. Charles Constantin mentioned the relationship in his Annales of 1935:
The form movement for men's wristwatches became more established and we did not feel financially able to put one up quickly and under the conditions that I wanted for a modern result. After a detailed review, we addressed ourselves to "La Générale", a watchmaking factory in Reconvilliers, where they kept an 8 3/4 calibre specialty tonneau machine that had been made at the beginning of the crisis and remained unused.
Your Concord adds to the story. Up until now I had supposed that La General manufacture the blank and V&C finished the movement. The Concord version suggests V&C also sold finished movements to other parties. Another, albeit lesser, possibility is that La Generale sold the ebauche to Concord. However their version, the Cal. 75-24, has a different appearance while the V&C and Concord variants are very similar. Thanks for taking the time to share this find

But I would like to share with you some images I found on eBay. On the pictures below, you'll recognize an ébauche quite familiar for collectors of Vacheron & Constantin wristwatches from the 1930s, which appears to have been used quite extensively in...

But I am wondering about how much of the finishing was effectively done by the manufacturers which branded the ébauches. The quality on this one doesn't seem very far from what I have observed on the Vacheron & Constantin versions of the same caliber, and...

The movement I have not bought, but I was so surprised I wanted to share the feeling with the community. I tend to share your opinion that Vacheron & Constantin used to supply other makers with in-house finished outsourced ébauches. It adds to the int...

that V&C had always sold to other fabricants and etablisseurs. These relationships were highly confidential although the records likely still exist but behind locked doors in Geneva. One of the few instances when a name was recorded in the Annales was Gol...
