I was maybe 13 when Filter 57 was 'in'. I have never had one myself so can't attest to that. But, this post also makes me a bit nostalgic...
Filter 57 has been in and out before our times :)
By the time I was contemplating the issue the brand was so far out that it was cool again. The producer tried several times to switch the smokers to something else and to kill the brand but they were so fiercely loyal that it turned out to be impossible. ...
Sad news. I will try to find better ads on this cigarette brand, because this one...

The packaging is simply cool :)
Remember reading in a book a long time ago, how smoking never was cool - it was just smokers who were cool. Hence so many young people taking it up (sadly the coolness did not naturally come with it ). Thanks for the pictures - these are great!
I'm thinking about a French humorist (Gad Elmaleh) who played a role in a sketch about the "coolness" of smokers and it was very funny. He is wondering why he never smoked before :-)

44 years ago. They made Camels seem like Newports.
