Jaeger Lecoultre 2014: The Dials of the Year.

Dec 27, 2014,00:29 AM

In this order...

1/ The Duometre à Quantième Lunaire Enamel, a monument of purity, elegance, classn snesuality. Number One for me, definitely.

2/ Tribute To Reverso 1948, Stamped  Dial. Awfully captivating, still affordable, I love these touches of blue on this white grained dial.

3/ Master Grande Tradition 8 Days Perpetual Skeleton: Even if it is not my favourite style for a skeleton ( I prefer the lighter and more modern design of the former Master 8 Days Perpetual Skeleton ), I must confess that I admire it.

The blue enamel ring surrounding it is a superb " plus ".

In my opinion, 2014 is an excellent millesime for JLC. I didn't include the Reverso Chocolate and the Hybris Mechanica 11, which can be seen as two other great winners, which means a lot.

This selection is only the reflect of my taste, of my tortured taste, as I would well see myself adding the Nr 1 and Nr 2 in my collection!

And you, what is your take?

Best,

Nicolas

I would be very curious to see the Enamel Duometre in the metal

The other dial I find appealing from 2014 is the Master Ultra thin with enamel dial: I like the leaf hands and the thin markers. The enamel dial, if it is white and not greyish and cold, could be something great to see. ...

If only there was no wording ' Email Grand Feu ' on the dials!

Very classical

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : December 28th, 2014-12:51
that is how it looks. Maybe a bit to classical? At least that is my impression after handling it in the metal.

The "in the metal" experience is necessary to feel it

I'll have a look and see how it feels, thanks Arie :)

I really need to see the 1948 in the metal. Nico, what are your thoughts on the 1948 dial

 By: watchthatman : December 27th, 2014-14:22
as compared the the white dial of the GRUT Duoface? The GRUT duo face white dial really has a hold over me. My vote is Duometre, by the way!

The duometre

 By: sternalot : December 27th, 2014-19:20
Is not for me. The enamel lacks the texture of other dials. Much prefer the white gold with black dial...

It is true that the texture of the dial is very much the Duometre.

That is one detail which fascinated me a lot when it was released, in 2007. Best, Sternalot. Nicolas.

I agree

with sternalot on that. After seeing the email dial live I think my preference is also with the white gold, black dialed QL (though I have never hold that watch in my hands). Nevertheless size wise I would prefer the email version. Wouldn't say no to eith...

Agree with them. Can't afford the Duometre QL enamel so I went for the Reverso TT 1948! Also a superb dial! Cheers robin ...
