Being able to take some side by side pictures of two rare birds, the Black Duometres à Quantieme Lunaire and à Chronographe, was something I wanted to live since I saw the Q.L in Geneva, at the SIHH, this year. The black dialed Duometre à Chronographe let...

..the pictures are superb, and so are your descriptive lines ; - Pretty much, until now, for me it was by far the QL, and still is, but to be honest, the Chronograph has been growing in me.. It is just, this moon, this blue moon on the very black " surfac...

The Chronographe is an instant love, the QL takes more time...

No, better said, it requires more time to be fully understood, then appreciated. Best, and thanks for your feedback, my dear friend. Nicolas

impressive to see them side by side.....to tell you the truth,I thought about that combo myself, but i like the diversity of my couple... Talking about the colour of the power reserve hand on the QL,I think it makes TOTAL sense......... Here is what i thin...

Thaks for your feedback, Mo. I was sure you would like this thread.

I cannot agree more, the QL is all about precision. Its conception, the Diablotine ( this small second running fast and continuously ), and the fact that you can stop the 2 second hands and reset them to zero, shows that it precision is its aim. I had the...

Greedy as usual......

I am glad that after a little debate with myself,I decided to stick to my black QL....posts like this make me love it even more....I will wear it today.. Mo

I can't choose between these 3. They are so complementary.

One Duometre for each occasion. How good would be life! Enjoy your Duo of Duometres, my friend! Best, Nicolas

Curious to know what the next one will be....

Hi Nico, pls correct me if I am wrong but....

in the Q.L. the small seconds hands (i.e. 1/6th second dial) is ALWAYS in motion, there is no option to 'turn it off'so to speak. Whereas in the chrono, as the small seconds is used for within the chrono function, it typically sits still in day to day use...

You are right. You cannot stop the small second hand on the QL.

 By: amanico : October 1st, 2014-20:31
To be more precise you can stop it, and reset it to zero when pulling the crown, but, otherwose, you cannot. It works continuously, while, on the Chronographe, you start it when you start the chrono function. On the QL, this is not a problem, the relaibil...

I don't think I was clear

 By: vitalsigns : October 2nd, 2014-22:26
to me, it's OK on the chrono, as it can be started and stopped with the chrono but I don't like it on the QL as it cannot be stopped, so I think it would be distracting. And since there is no chrono on the QL and the 1/6th hand cannot be stopped, the 1/6t...

Love these two "Beasts" very much.....

 By: Sandgroper : October 1st, 2014-19:17
Thank you Nicolas. The blue of the moon is really striking on the QL, even though and due to its colour it looks more like the Planet Earth:) nevertheless it is very Romantic and appealing. The one difference I can notice clearly is the Foudroyante, on th...

Yes, this is a confusing detail due to the graduation of the small second, on the QL.

Well seen, François! All the best, my friend. Nicolas

That's the eye of the Platypus:)

Cheers my friend hope you're keeping well! Francois

Both are superb ...

...as all of the Duometre versions! Diffiult to choose one over the other but being a chronograph lover, that would be (and was) my first option. The perfect pair could be the PT chronograph with the white gold QL ? Best , Gerard

Well, the platinum " à Chronographe " is a top watch.

 By: amanico : October 2nd, 2014-02:35
I owned it for 3 years, and absolutely loved it, but I think that the white gold adds a touch of coolness. The WG Q.L? You mean the enamel? Hmmmm! ;) Best, and thanks for sharing your thoughts, Gerard. Nicolas

I never realized....

how much more beautiful THIS moonphase is vs the rose version. The Milky Way, behind the moon, in this example has MANY stars, whereas the original had only 7 or 8. I hope JLC will start using more beautiful moonphases in all their watches. -Dean

Yes, this one is pretty nice. The other question will be to know which one we prefer...

 By: amanico : October 3rd, 2014-08:33
Between the enamel and this WG QL... ;) Best, nicolas

love the QL

 By: Arie - Mr Orange : October 15th, 2014-06:22
I would pick the QL over the chrono. The chrono might be a bit 'cleaner', but the QL (as you said) is more warm. And the time display is on the right side of the dial. one day one day

 By: ifraher : November 11th, 2014-15:26
Do you think the Duometre line will ever be housed in a steel case or will it remain at a higher 'strictly precious metal' level? Regards

Strictly precious metal. [nt]

 By: amanico : November 11th, 2014-22:09

here's hoping...

 By: ifraher : November 16th, 2014-09:33
They have a the Master Grand Réveil in Steel, I was hoping they would house a Duometre in Steel eventually.

Cost wise...

 By: ifraher : November 16th, 2014-09:43
I doubt it would actually make a considerable impact on the overall cost but it certainly would open the Duometre up to a larger market.
