Jaeger-LeCoultre & Ovarian Cancer National Alliance TEAL SURVIVOR event @South Coast Plaza

Sep 10, 2014,20:21 PM

Yesterday I attended the JLC & Ovarian Cancer National Alliance event at South Coast Plaza in Orange County featuring a photography exhibit by Howard Parr which featured white & black and teal photographs of TEAL SURVIVORS.  September is ovarian cancer awareness month, and the color teal is designated for ovarian cancer awareness.  Hence, Mr. Parr's photography featured women who survived ovarian cancer.

The first part of the event was a cocktail reception held inside the JLC South Coast Plaza Boutique.  Afterwards, we headed to a private room inside AnQi Restaurant to see the actual TEAL SURVIVORS exhibit.

Below are the poster boards at the exhibit which give you more info about the JLC & Ovarian Cancer National Alliance partnership.

Below is Howard Parr giving the opening speech for this event.  Some of you may already know Howard who happens to be Timezone's Jaeger-LeCoultre & Audemars Piguet moderator.  Howard lost his step-mother to ovarian cancer and Philippe Bonay, JLC's North American President, also lost a close family relative to ovarian cancer.  Howard is a watch enthusiast too, so this is how everything tied together and how this partnership amongst Howard, JLC, and Ovarian Cancer National Alliance came to fruition.

Below are some of the photographs depicting 13 women who survived ovarian cancer in their favorite activities such as running, golfing, etc.  If you look closely enough (difficult to see in these pictures though), you will notice each picture has a subtle splash of teal color somewhere inside.  One example is a teal colored golf ball, another a teal colored shirt pin, and a teal colored eye glasses.

Now below are some more pictures of the exhibit.  We had free flowing wine and champagne as well as tasty hors devours.

JLC will be donating 10% of sales for 7 days following the event and also created 10 teal colored alligator straps for sale.  10% of the sales from these watches will also be donated to the Ovarian Cancer National Alliance.  Also, 10 limited edition prints are available for sale from the TEAL SURVIVORS photography collection of which part of the proceeds will go towards the OCNA.

Thanks to JLC for this event, and I wish the Alliance the best of success with their campaign.

Cheers,
Anthony

Unfortunately I was not able to attend the event in California but am the proud owner of one of those 10 straps. (5 for men, 5 for women). Men's strap is very interesting . teal on the inside, black gator on the outside, and ONE teal gator loop. [URL=] [/...

Thanks! Please do share some pictures of your JLC and new Teal strap

Plan is to first wear it when there are JLC and Ovarian Cancer National Alliance events in NY, and then when I get married. Some personal connections between ovarian cancer, or more appropriately the treatment of it, in my family.

wow..awesome strap!
