JLC BH event, PART 2: Pics and video Duometre Spherotourbillon and Unique Travel Time

Apr 16, 2014,19:21 PM

The Jaeger LeCoultre Duometre collection is popular and I was able to get closeups of the Duometre Spherotourbillon in rose gold.  Introduced at SIHH 2012, the tourbillon turns on 2 axis with the cage turning every 30 seconds and at a 20 degree incline on a second axis.  It also features a cylindrical hairspring which you can see in the picture here below.  This watch features a multi-axis tourbillon and a instantaneous reset seconds hand.  On the side of the case near the 2 o'clock position there is a pusher to reset the seconds hand.

I love watching tourbillons move and the Duometre is stunning to see.  Instead of trying to describe it I made a small video of the tourbillon:

Finishing is very nice as expected for a Duometre.  The transparent caseback shows the two barrels and gear trains.

I also spent some time with Mr. Jean-Luc F on the JLC Duometre Unique Travel Time.  The first version was offered in a limited edition of 100  pieces for the Paris Boutique.  For our SoCal PuristS, we remember the Duometre UTT very well, it was debuted last year when our dear moderator Nicolas made the trip out to visit us in Beverly Hills.
For SIHH 2014 the Duometre UTT is offered in rose gold.  Here's a video of the watch and an explanation by Jean-Luc about the functions.

Next up in part 3, a few more watches and dinner.
Regards,
ED-209

I had the chance to see all three versions of the Geophysic. There is a lot to like and a lot to be said when you see and handle the watches in person. Thnaks for the coverage ED. Bill

On the Compressor Chrono ceramic. 46mm could be too big, must see in person. But I generally don't like Compressor styles, and this one really strikes me as stunning. I do have a black watch weakness... I guess I am the demographic. I HAVE to see this wat...
