Master Compressor Geographic - Late but great ...

 By: nilomis : September 29th, 2014-10:53
Team, I remember admiring this watch during my days of lurking at the PuristS (before Ppro): www.network54.com At that time, I had absolutely no chance to get this watch and I knew nothing about JLC, except that it was a very expensive brand. Time...

Not really a semi vintage, as it is only what? 10 years old?

 By: amanico : September 29th, 2014-11:37
And it is still very modern looking, not out dated at all.... The complication is great, the design very Young, a tad daring. Magali's touch. A cool Watch to own, definitely. Best, Nilo. Nicolas

The "semi-vintage" was a tease ...

To Vlad. Vintage >= 20 years. Semi-Vintage >= 20/2 years. Now serious. Another magic performed by Magali. I currently own five JLC and among those five, four have Magali's touch. I'm an addicted to her magic. Cheers, Nilo

Literally, Vintage is the french contraction for vingt ans d'age.

So, twenty years old... But it seems that things are considered vintage when they are much older.... ;) Best, Nicolas

That's Ppro ...

I had no idea thats where the word vintage was derived from!!

To be sure...

...this was the first JLC I ever fell in love with, and that was also in 2007! I did not get the MCG and opted for the Extreme World Chrono instead, but the MCG has always remained a tempting watch for me after all these years. Nah, not vintage, but that ...

Much better - New Old ...

Thank you Respo. I'm enjoying VERY MUCH. Cheers, Nilo

This one is a really coool tic-tac !.. Strong but balanced presence.. Somehow..

.. to me that's an excellent amalgamation, no - better - integration of the Geographic indication, which I love a lot, with the compressor "identity", plus the date & am/pm window - in a very attractive package ! - Congrats to the return of your timepiece...

Thank you ...

Hs, Now I have a strong competitor for my Dualmatic. Good decision to make before a week of battle on my "salt mine". Cheers, Nilo

One of my very favorite JLCs...

especially on the bracelet. Enjoy, and don't sell/give it away (you'll regret it!). -Dean

It arrived with the bracelet but ...

No matter how much I enjoy JLC, I see their bracelets way too much "bling" IMHO. It is amazing comfortable with a CF strap and the single fold buckle. Cheers, Nilo

Nice piece

The JLC compressors are very distinctive, a perfect size--not too big, not too small, and with a well-proportioned thickness--and are quite comfortable on the wrist. Enjoy it... John

Funny as they were not warmly welcomed, when they were issued, and now....

 By: amanico : September 30th, 2014-11:47
Feelings have changed a bit on these Master Compressors.... Good! Best, Nicolas

yes indeed

 By: vitalsigns : September 30th, 2014-12:33
...in large part because of the avant-garde compressor crown system and in some cases the asymmetrical dials. While some of the asymmetrical dials haven't grown on me, I love the cases and compressor crowns (much prefer the latter over screw-down crowns)....

I believe that the compressor crowns ...

Just like good vodka is an acquired taste. First time I show a JLC Master Compressor to my wife her coment was "nice but those crowns looks like tire caps". Time passes and I can see her hungry eyes stalking my Compressors. Cheers, Nilo

I agree

John, Despite the fact that today I can wear (or was forced to) watches with 44mm, it's a pleasure to strap a normal one on the wrist. Add to the pleasure, the wonderful dial design. Cheers, Nio

MC Geo

Congrats, I have owned the MC Geo since 2005. It never saw a service , worn on a regular base (first year a lot, now each year a few weeks at least) and it still is going strong and only gains a second a day. I love that watch and would never sell it. I h...

The Master Compressor series has always been a favorite of mine. A real "face in the crowd" that positively stands out against the majority of the mainstream watch designs. Best, Gerard
