You all saw classic pics of the Mare Nostrum, pics like this: But did you ever see the Mare under the " loupe " ? Here it is: These Macros enhance the beauty of this dark blue dial, contrasting nicely with the honey yellow tritium indexes, show its perfec...

And merci beaucoup for inducting me to this new point of view! Lucky you to be the proud owner of such a stupendous watch! As for me, i guess the only chance if possible is when Panerai decides to do a re-edition one day! Cheers Stephen
Don't be so pessimistic, Stephen

A Mare Nostrum can be found, even if it is not that easy to get one, indeed. And you know what? This is a Manual wound watch... So, blue dial + SS Case, + Manual Wound movement=A Watch for Stephen! LOL Best, my friend. Nicolas
Mon ami, you always make my day!

Thanks for the encouragement! Yes, it does sound like a watch for me! I will keep my eyes peeled open for any opportunity! Btw, one question, what is the size of this Mare Nostrum? Is it above 47mm? 50mm like the original? Thanks as always, and a bientot!...
Non, votre Honneur!

I'm feeling like a kid in FAO Schwartz who isn't allowed to buy his favourite toy right in front of him! Let's see what SIHH 09 brings for us this time round! I just cant wait, and as long as its 47mm or above, hand-wound, count me in! Cheers Stephen
I have been hoping for just

As they reveal all the love you have for your Mare! Where is it, by the way? It's been a long time since I didn't see a pic of your Black Beauty... Best. Nicolas

which is better than most pictures I attempt to take In retrospect, the new models like PAM 275, 317, and 310 etc resembles the Mare layout to a certain extent don't you think?...

And personnaly, I find it a bit more interesting than the 36, even if this last one has a lot of interest, as it is the only Vendome Watch coming with a Brown dial + Tritium Indexes, and a titanium Case... But if you make the Pair Logo + Mare pre vendome,...

the Mare Nostrum as I know you do....fantastic. The 008 has the same texture as well as a hint of brown/grey to it depending on the light. A masterpiece in every category, weight, dial layout, legibility, wrist presence etc.... One of my favorite pieces. ...

I'm not the great collector as you are but I do love having watches (especiall Panerai) in my small collection. Frankly speakin, the Mare is one of my most favorite PreVendomes (besides the 201A and 202A). As you said, the facinating balance on the dial b...

Some important differences between these 2 references, although they both share a blue dial. The Differences are about the bezel, and the dial: Mare Pre V: A flat bezel, and a different layout of the dial, with indexes which are more located at the center...
Thank you very much Nicolas.

The pics totally clearify the differences between Mare PreV and PAM006 re-edition. I have to agree that the PreV is the true beauty and I dare say it is my most favorite Panerai chrono. I once saw my friend wear it with the Nato strap and it looks pretty ...
