MC for me

May 17, 2011,16:41 PM

I think when you see the two watches (TT and MC) at the AD, you will have your answer. I walked into the shop eyeing a Reverso, but then I tried on the MC, and there was no looking back for me. The TT is a great watch, with lots of history behind it, but I reckon only one will call out to you, because the two watches are quite different.

By the way, may I ask if you visit your own AD in KL, or do you mean the JLC Boutique at Starhill? I like to visit the boutique for its excellent service and great prices, but I am wondering if there are better alternatives (in terms of pricing). Thanks.

The past weeks I have been infatuated with the Reverso TTas some of you might know. Now that I am back home in KL, Malaysia, I can finally go visit the AD tomorrow for the Wrist test Challenge which I am planning to do tomorrow morning. The original conte...

Sorry I cannot help with the Duo. Best regards, George

Stay with your former plan.

I'm not really confident when I see how the case back has been so overpolished, on the Duo... Ok, the dial is great, but I wonder why the case has been overpolished on such a recent watch. To hide what? An " accident "? A suspect origin? I wouild stick on...

Thanks for the advice

The Duo is a wonderful watch but if no box/paper and case back over polished… Something does not add up, IMO. I would rather pay some more and get a watch I am confident with. Best Blomman

Simply said .. DON'T go for the Duo, IMO ! ;)

I do have the same watch for many years, ( since end 80ies); - I do love it , a great companion - more dressy occasions, including theatre & opera .. - the second time zone with day/ night and the quality/ appeal of the verso dial are really someting ! Th...

The Wrist Test is still much needed must-do

Yup I am heading to the boutique in Starhill. The other ADs give a little bit more discount but the boutique gives an extended 2year international warranty on the entire watch. I am told by the boutique staff previously, ADs usually give warranty on the m...

Especially when the trace of history is blurry. My personal theory is that if you feel that a person is trying hide to something more than often he is. Why risk not owning a Master Chrono for a suspicious Duo? Btw Malaysia's vintage market small. I have a...

love the Duo, but

I would definitely follow the collective advice and avoid a watch that has been apparently over-polished. It simply raises too many red flags. Actually, I would avoid a watch that brings caution from so many learned members of the community - that by itse...

Thank you Everyone for your learned advice

I will stay away from the Duo as advices by the more experienced experts. The last thing i want is to feel shortchanged after purchasing something. I guess the Duo will just have to wait. I am off to the Boutique now. Update you guys later

Good luck, foowy!

Looking forward in learning your decision. Best, Alex

I would go for the Reverso 1931 over the Master Chrono. I would also keep your eyes out for a better example of the Duo. The old model Duo (with the recessed pusher) is such a great watch....

You've got a GREAT pair

and both on my wish list...well after today, I am happy to say only one remains on my wish list. the TT is an absolute must have watch after trying it on today. I'll just need to keep looking for the Duo

Nice one Rovermark!

great pair and icons in Reverso history... how do you find time between the new AP and the TT1931?

It isn't easy...

 By: rovermark : May 18th, 2011-12:49
There was supposed to be a longer gap between purchasing them. When I ordered the AP it wasn't supposed to arrive until mid summer. I also wasn't expecting to have the Reverso as soon as I did. Don't get me wrong, I'm not complaining about the timing of t...
