SIHH 2011: An introduction to the new releases.

 By: amanico : January 20th, 2011-06:27
Hi All, I just came back from Geneva with a full suitcase of Dreams. Let me first quickly intorduce you the new JLC watches, this year. Of course we'll come back on each of these novelties in dedicated posts, but as I know you well, you would kill me if I...

nice overview

 By: karmin : January 20th, 2011-06:41
Thanks Nicolas for this overview of SIHH and these appealing beauties. I am definitely looking forward to see the Reverso Tribute to 1931 in flesh. I thought that JLC had also released a new ATMOS, but I might be wron. Best, karmin

Thanks for your indulgence, Karmin.

 By: amanico : January 20th, 2011-13:44
I didn't have much time to prepare a better post, but we'll come back to each of these novelties, and believe me, there are some pearls to discover, here. As for the Atmos, you're correc,t there is a new one which is very appealing. Best, K. Nicolas.

thanks for your observations Nico

 By: playtime : January 20th, 2011-06:45
And hope all is well. Love the American Deep Sea as well as the Lady Reverso Ultra Thin--the latter's stunning dial realldy does it for me. Jason

There is a lot to say about these novelties.

 By: amanico : January 20th, 2011-23:11
I would say that the most important thing is that JLC managed to release some exciting but affordable watches, such as theTT 1931. Will come back to these pieces soon. Best, Nicolas.

Thanks Nico and good to see that you are back!

 By: dr.kol : January 20th, 2011-06:46
The Home Pages of JLC are giving some "funny" information like the Enamel Reverso in SS or the Ladies Ultra Thin in White Gold high jewelry version... Do you have any additional information? Best, Kari

Well, Kari, you saw them in Geneva, and you had all the informations about these watches.

 By: amanico : January 20th, 2011-23:15
NO white metal for the Reverso enamel, nor white gold for the Lady UT. 100% sure about that. Sadly, because, like you, I would have loved to see the Reverso enamel in white metal. One day, maybe? It was great to meet you there! Best, Nicolas.

I am sure you are right. But I hope you are wrong.

 By: dr.kol : January 21st, 2011-01:18
Anyhow, the home pages of JLC under 2011 Collection tell that Reverso Email is made in steel and RG, references Q3738422 (180 pieces) and Q3732422 (80 pieces). Anyhow, other forums tell that 180 pieces are in steel and 89 pieces in Red Gold. True, this do...

Same hope here. [nt]

Just a quick and dirty observation ...

 By: sw-rick : January 20th, 2011-07:17
On the MJLC website it is written that the Reverso Email will be available in 2 limited editions, 180 SS and 80 PG. Is this a typo on their part? Will comment more on the novelties later. Best, Richard

Bad typo, Richard.

 By: amanico : January 20th, 2011-23:30
But who knows? Maybe JLC will release, next year, a white metal version of this superb watch? Best, Nicolas.

I can see a new tendance, this year ...

 By: amanico : January 20th, 2011-23:36
To say it better, a tendance which started last year, and which goes on this year: Smaller watches when it comes to dressy watches, and reasonnably priced. Which are 2 important points, indeed. The new Master Géo? A superb one. It looks like the old ...

Such a great line up by JLC this year...

I love the tribute to Deep Sea Alarm the most... The first 3 reversos are extremely nice, but sadly I still don't see myself wearing such a small watch... Thanks for the quick report Nicolas! Looking forward to see the live pics of the novelties... Best, ...

I met some good old Panersiti friends in Geneva, at the SIHH, Sam.

 By: amanico : January 20th, 2011-23:42
And some of them, who, like you, are used to wear big watches. Not only they loved the bTT 31 in SS, but they ... ordered it, at their big surprise, because, like you, they thought that it may be too small. The only advice I can give you is to try it, you...

I would definitely love to see it in metal and try it on....

 By: TdotBean : January 20th, 2011-16:47
Just the beginning of this week I got the news from JLC Boutique that Paris alone place 80 order, US 20 and Asia only 1! What's going on with my fellow Asians? By now I think more than half or near the whole lot is gone. Fellow purist you gotta move quick...

More than 100, Tyler...

 By: amanico : January 21st, 2011-02:25
Much more than this, and not only on the US DSA, but on both. Sure they will sell fast, and I'm very happy to see that these pieces received such a warm welcome. As for a good number, try : 59 ( the birth of the watch ), 62 ( the end of the production ), ...

Or should I try 64 your birth year :)

I love the idea of the Reverso enamel, and I was part of the prayers to see this watch coming soon, so I'm happy to see it released this year. It has its charm in RG, definitely. But it would aslo have been DIVINE in white metal. Best, my friend. Nicolas.

I like the JLC line up best of the big companies this year
