Wow - a lot to digest here.....

After my first read-through, I adored these re-issues. After thinking on it a bit, I still like them quite a bit. I think JLC really nailed it on the case, dials, size, lugs, etc. etc.
But, I must agree with some of the other posters here that the movement, in this case, does not do justice to the classic that this watch "hommages". To me this watch needs a manual-wind, COSC movement. Beyond that, as Omega managed to do with the SM300 this year, I would have loved to see other JLC innovations both within and surrounding the movement to improve anti-magnetism, etc. Of all of the manufacturers going today, I would least expect JLC to compromise on account of not having the perfect movement at the ready to place in a given watch.
So, I'm conflicted. I really like the watch quite a bit, but feel that JLC could have gone further here to make this a truly worthy successor to such an icon.
Thanks for posting the wonderful scans and information Nicolas - enjoyed reading your post quite a bit.
